Many people complain about the look of spider veins on their legs, especially when the temperatures start to warm up. Aria Aesthetics and Wellness offers effective laser treatments and injections to diminish the appearance of spider veins. The best candidates for laser vein treatment and sclerotherapy are those that complain of small broken capillaries, cherry angiomas, or small spider veins found anywhere on the face or body.

WHAT IT IS:

Sclerotherapy (treatment of spider veins) works by injecting a solution into the veins. This solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and stick together. Laser vein treatment uses a laser beam that targets the unsightly vein. The energy causes the blood to coagulate and heats the walls of the vein causing it to seal itself off and collapse. The blood that previously flowed through the vein is redirected to other healthy veins. At Aria Aesthetics and Wellness, we use a combination of injections and laser treatments to target the spider veins.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Before your injection and laser vein treatment, you will be asked to stop photosensitive medications, retinols or acid type medications and creams one week prior to your treatment. We will thoroughly assess your complete vascular health to make sure your veins are deemed appropriate to be treated by injection and laser. Your skin will be cleaned and prepped for the procedure. The laser’s parameters are very precise and are able to treat all skin types with little risk of damaging the overlying skin.

AFTER YOUR TREATMENT:

Temporary bruising and darkening of the skin may result and will disappear in several days or weeks. It usually takes two to six weeks before a response is seen and it may take several months to see final results. More than one treatment is generally needed depending on the size of the vessels being treated. It is recommended that you wear compression stockings for 5 days after the procedure. The stockings should have 15 to 20 mmHg compression.
