Your Skin:

In your 20’s, you have your best-ever complexion. It’s luminous, taut, and even-toned. This is due to estrogen levels peak in your 20’s. The shifts in hormones around your period can lead to acne, though. This is seen as larger pores, more oil production, and breakouts along the jaw line.

At Aria Aesthetics and Wellness, we offer several treatments directed to people 18 to 29 years old.

SPF:

You should be wearing an SPF of 15 or greater every day. PCA Skin® and VI Aesthetics® offer lightweight options that you can wear under your makeup. Apply it to your face, neck, decolletage, and the back of your hands. Don’t forget to wear sunglasses on bright days as well, as this will decrease lines formed by squinting. If you are out in the sun for more than 20 minutes (beach, pool, exercising), you need to wear SPF 50.

Medical Grade Peels:

Salicylic Acid peels: if you have acne, this type of peel is beneficial to reduce acne. It is applied 1 to 2 weeks prior to menses. This allows for exfoliating of the skin layer that could cause blockage of pores and glands.

Glycolic Acid or Lactic Acid peels: these peels offer a gentle exfoliation to reveal smoother skin, reduce wrinkles, increase collagen, and decrease sun damage and blotchy skin spots. They can be applied every 30 days.

Longer Lashes:

Lattisse®is an FDA-approved topical treatment to grow eye lashes. Lashes become longer, fuller and darker.

Lip Fillers:

Dermal fillers can be used to plump up your lips. These fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that binds to water. The gel-like liquid is injected into the lip to create a subtle increase in your lip size.

Wrinkle Reduction:

Wrinkle modulators are neurotoxins called botulinum toxin type A (BOTOX®, Dysport®, Xeomin®). It is a natural substance made of purified protein that temporarily suspends the muscle movements, which eases and smooths creases in your face.

Not everyone in their twenties benefit from wrinkle modulators. Those who can benefit are people who have had extensive exposure to sun and tanning beds, and smokers. People who have very mobile faces also benefit from wrinkle modulators in their twenties.

Laser Hair Removal:

Laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction that can eliminate hair anywhere you normally pluck, tweeze, wax or shave. The laser emits a beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicle, where it is absorbed. Upon absorption, the energy is transformed into heat, which can disable the follicle and prevents new hair growth.

Typically, people experience a 85 percent reduction in hair in the treated areas. It is not effective at removing red, light blonde or gray hair. It can be done on all skin colors.
