Though still relatively minor, the effects of age will invariably begin to appear during this decade. Estrogen levels start to dip, leading to lower levels of collagen and hyaluronic acid. Your skin will be thinner and expression lines are more visible on your forehead and around your eyes. Cell turnover slows down as well, causing dullness and dryness of the skin. Damage due to sun exposure and some lines on the forehead or around the eyes and mouth, and a growing number of facial veins and spider veins likely occur. The good new is that at this stage a prompt response to any skin change will almost always lead to a successful outcome.
At Aria Aesthetics and Wellness, we offer several treatments directed to people 30 to 39 years old.
You should be wearing an SPF of 15 or greater every day. PCA Skin® and VI Aesthetics® offer lightweight options that you can wear under your makeup. Apply it to your face, neck, decolletage, and the back of your hands. Don’t forget to wear sunglasses on bright days as well, as this will decrease lines formed by squinting. If you are out in the sun for more than 20 minutes (beach, pool, exercising), you need to wear SPF 50.
Medical Grade Peels:
Medical grade peels are an excellent way to revitalize your complexion.
Salicylic Acid peels: For people with acne, this type of peel is beneficial to reduce acne. It is applied 1 to 2 weeks prior to menses. This allows for exfoliating of the skin layer that could cause blockage of pores and glands.
Glycolic Acid or Lactic Acid peels: these peels offer a gentle exfoliation to reveal smoother skin, reduce wrinkles, increase collagen, and decrease sun damage and blotchy skin spots. They can be applied every 30 days.
Micro Needle Treatments:
Also known as collagen induction therapy, micro needle treatments are a minimally-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as scars on the face. A device with 36 needles is used to create micro punctures over your face (0.5 mm to 2.5 mm depth). This stimulates your skin to produce more collagen. This treatment can be combined with a glycolic acid peel for more intense effects.
Lattisse®is an FDA-approved topical treatment to grow eye lashes. Lashes become longer, fuller and darker.
Dermal fillers can be used to plump up lips. These fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that binds to water. The gel-like liquid is injected into the lip to create a subtle increase in your lip size.
Dermal fillers can be used to fill in laugh lines, as well as tear troughs, frown lines, and smoker lines. The gel-like liquid is injected into the lines and lifts up the skin. This smooths out the line or creases.
Wrinkle modulators are neurotoxins called botulinum toxin type A (BOTOX®, Dysport®, Xeomin®). It is a natural substance made of purified protein that temporarily suspends the muscle movements, which eases and smooths creases in your face.
In your 30’s, you normally start noticing some fine lines and wrinkles developing on your face. Wrinkle modulators will help soften and even erase many of these lines if you have treatments every 3 to 4 months. Treatments can also be done a few weeks before a special event (i.e. wedding or high school reunion).
Laser Hair Removal:
Laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction that can eliminate hair anywhere you normally pluck, tweeze, wax or shave. The laser emits a beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicle, where it is absorbed. Upon absorption, the energy is transformed into heat, which can disable the follicle and prevents new hair growth.
Typically, people experience a 85 percent reduction in hair in the treated areas. It is not effective at removing red, light blonde or gray hair. It can be done on all skin colors.
Laser Rejuvenation Therapy:
Laser rejuvination therapy offers a non invasive tightening treatment to stimulate healthy collagen and restore your skin’s youthful appearance. It helps firm healthy skin, get rid of any red or brown spots as, well as help fill in wrinkles without any downtime. Typically, 4 to 6 treatments spaced out over a 6-month period deliver remarkable results.
