Skin Care for Men

Still washing your face with a bar soap and running out the door? If you want to slow down Father Time, it’s time to step up your skin care game. There is need to go out and buy expensive products. The key is washing and moisturizing every day, and following a few other basic steps.

Simple Skin Care Regimen:

Cleanse:

Wash your face with a good every morning and night. Avoid super-hot water as this dries out your skin, as this causes your skin to appear wrinkly and much older. Make sure to use a gentle cleanser that does not strip your skin of important oils. We recommend VI Derm® Cleanser)

Throw away your cheap razors:

Chose a razor that fits your skin sensitivity and beard coarseness. Be aware that razors with several blades can give you razor burn or cause ingrown hairs when it shaves the hair too far below the skin. Use a moisturizing shaving gel. Shaving in the shower or immediately afterwards allows for a close, clean shave as the hairs are softer.

Aftershave:

If you use an aftershave, make sure it is alcohol free to avoid drying out your skin.

Moisturize:

There are several moisturizers that are fragrance fee. VI Derm® Complete Care or VI Derm® Clear HQ Plus are great moisturizers that also help reduce pigmentation and sun spots.

Sunscreen:

Yes, it is the number one thing you can apply to your skin to slow down aging. Look for one that has SPF 30 or higher, such as PCA Skin® Weightless Protection Broad Spectrum SPF 45.

Follow these five basic steps and you will have smooth and younger looking skin. You can also try a medical grade peel, micro needling, or laser rejuvenation to help with acne, age spots, fine lines, and restore collagen.
